Taylor Honours Beckham

In the wake of England's penalty-kick loss to Portugal in the World Cup quarterfinals, David Beckham relinquished his captaincy of the Three Lions.

It was, of course, new Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor who first handed the armband to David Beckham, back at the end of 2000. Today Taylor pays tribute to the man they call Becks.

At any rate, I don't think England's problems during this World Cup were owing to Beckham's role as captain. Win or lose, it was the right time for Becks to step down.
