Indiana 0-2 Notre Dame

A very disappointing (and early) exit from the NCAA tournament for the Hoosiers. The Irish pushed hard from the opening whistle, and finished two great chances.

The Hoosiers' hopes for a third-straight national title are thus dashed.

Brighton 2-3 Palace

Palace defeated rivals Brighton last Sunday 3-2, helping to make up for their poor showing when Brighton visited Selhurst Park earlier this season.

Indiana a # 3 Seed in NCAAs

The Indiana University men's soccer team has been awarded a # 3 seed in the bracket for the 2005 Division I championships. The College Cup will be held this year in Cary, NC. The full bracket can be found here.

On 11-22 the Hoosiers will host the winner of the Notre Dame / Western Illinois match to be played on 11-18. If the Hoosiers win, they will host a third round game on 11-27, and will play Clemson, Coastal Carolina or North Carolina State.

If the bracket goes more or less according to form, IU will host a quarterfinal match on 12-4, and would likely play Ms. AbCrack's alma mater Duke or 2005 Hoosier nemesis Penn State.

Good luck to the Hoosiers!

Miscellany

Okay, many topics and results to report, in brief. Palace lost 2-3 to table toppers Sheffield Utd., falling several spots in the process. The United States men drew with Scotland 1-1 in a Glasgow friendly. England had a come-from-behind friendly win against Argentina on the strength of a Rooney goal and a late Owen brace. Finally, the Indiana University men's team lost 1-0 to Penn State in the finals of the Big Ten tournament.
