You can read about Palace's crucial three points and Andy Johnson's two penalties here. A big win for Palace. Also, beating a Steve Bruce side was extra-special for the Eagles supporters!

England 0-0 Netherlands -- Friendly

England have drawn with Holland in a fairly boring friendly. AbCrack was placing particular interest in this match as it was to be Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson's frist appearance for the England squad.

AJ did get a chance to play in the second half, but England gaffer Sven Goran Ericsson put the center-striking AJ all the way out on the touchline. Why, one may wonder, did Sven waste everyon'e time with such a decision? Eh, at least AJ suffered no injuries.

Every cloud.

AJ for England!

Andy Johnson has been called up to the England squad by Sven Goran-Ericsson. A very cool honor for AJ. Good thing he remembered to keep his football boots.

Crystal Palace 0-1 Bolton

On Friday, Palace got an undeserved zero points in their match against Bolton. Too many misses chances from Palace.

Oh, and on Sunday the New England Patriots beats the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX. Yawn. Although, AbCrack is already looking forward to Super Bowl XL. Heh.

West Bromwich Albion 2 - 2 Crystal Palace

You can read about it here. A big opint for Palalce in this match at the Hawthorns. AJ opened the scoring, but WBA looked set for the three points after two goals of their own. But in the waning seconds, a ten-man Palace side equalised. The last-gasp goal from Aki Riihilahti allowed Palalce to split the opints and keep WBA five points adrift from safety.

Trivia: Aki Riihilahti was the program poster insert at Selhurst Park during gaffer Iain Dowie's first match at the helm of the Eagles. Um, yeah. And now you know.
